Hi everyone,

Welcome to the Carnival of Song blog! Hope you like this new feature of the site and that you all enjoyed the show this week.

You'll notice a few changes on the site -- I hope you'll like the new additions!

Of course, this blog is new as well. I'll comment here on some of the new music we're getting in, concerts I see, etc.

While I was on vacation in Los Angeles, I saw my favorite band Counting Crows play with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. It was a beautiful show. The songs I know and love so well rearranged to soar in different places and different ways -- what a pleasure to experience! There are rumors that this won't be a one-off show, and for any Counting Crows fan who didn't get to go, I hope that's true. It was a special evening.

Back home at the radio station, I was really excited to find the new Merle Haggard CD "Chicago Wind" in my mailbox this week! You may or may not agree with his politics, bvt Merle is an original and his voice is still so moving to me, as are so many of his songs. I'm looking forward to playing lots more of this album for you in the weeks ahead.
